Heavy Metal Knitting Online World Championship 2021 finalists confirmed
The finalists of the Heavy Metal Knitting Online World Championship 2021 are confirmed. Eight countries will be represented in the competition.
The qualification round of the Heavy Metal Knitting Online World Championship 2021 — organized to take place on Thursday, July 9th — concluded on the 15th of June, with contestants delivering videos from 11 countries. The online event itself will host 12 video acts by competitors from 8 different countries.
During the qualifying round, the competitors shot a one-minute-long video where they displayed their knitting skills combined with heavy metal attitude. The qualification round jury — consisting of members of the organizing company and co-operating organisations — ranked the application videos by following criteria: performance, uniqueness, attitude and heavymetalknittinghood. Twelve best video acts will compete of the title at the online event and the finalists represent the following countries: Canada, Finland, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the United States.
“The videos we received from around the world once again amazed us! It was not an easy task for the qualification round jury to rank the performances. The heavymetalknitters everywhere truly rock! It is going to be a tough decision for the jury at the finals in July to choose the winner of 2021”, says Mari Karjalainen from the organizing company WTF Productions Oy Ltd.
Heavy Metal Knitting Online World Championships will take place on Friday 9th of July 2021 at 18.00 – 19.30 pm (UTC +3).
