On the darkest and coldest day of Finnish winter
(The 20th of December, 2019)
Heavy Metal Knitting is back!
The first ever Heavy Metal Knitting World Championships were held in July 2019. The competition returns in summer 2020 and has opened the entry period for the qualification round on the darkest day of Finnish winter. Applications are accepted until March 31st 2020.
In Heavy Metal Knitting the knitter takes the lead performer role of a metal band. The idea is simple – as the band plays metal music, the knitter knits and moshes with his needles and yarn around. Heavy Metal Knitting is about combining handicrafts and heavy metal music in a new and fresh way, resulting in awe inspiring performances.
